Reports suggest that Apple is gearing up for the release of its fourth-generation iPhone SE, anticipated to hit the market in 2025. The buzz surrounding the device's design has been fueled by numerous leaks and rumors, with the latest leak showcasing purported case renders of the upcoming iPhone. These transparent protective cases hint at a significant redesign, featuring a notch on the display to accommodate the selfie camera and Face ID sensors, along with a single rear camera cutout.
Shared by leaker Majin Bu on X, the leaked images of the iPhone SE 4 case indicate a departure from the traditional design seen in previous SE models. Notably, the device might follow in the footsteps of the iPhone 13, adopting a notch design for facial recognition features while potentially ditching Touch ID and the home button.
Examining the leaked case, observers note a single camera sensor on the back, speculated to be a 48-megapixel sensor akin to the one found in the iPhone XR. Additionally, the case reveals the presence of volume rockers on the left side and a cutout, possibly intended for an action button, reminiscent of the feature introduced in the latest iPhone 15 Pro series.
While the iPhone SE 4's official release is not expected until 2025, earlier reports suggest notable upgrades, including a larger 6.1-inch OLED panel supplied by BOE, Apple's proprietary 5G modem chip, and the incorporation of a USB Type-C port for charging. Anticipated dimensions for the device stand at 147.7x71.5x7.7mm.
The predecessor to the upcoming model, the iPhone SE (2022), made its debut in March 2022, with a starting price of Rs. 43,900 for the base 64GB storage variant.
