Bukayo Saka, the talented forward from Arsenal, has made the decision to withdraw from the England squad due to an injury. He initially joined the squad at St. George's Park earlier this week but has been unable to participate in training sessions. Consequently, he will be returning to his club for rehabilitation. As of now, no replacement has been named for his spot.

Sources close to the situation have revealed that Saka's injury is a minor muscular issue. However, his departure from the squad is seen more as a precautionary measure, especially considering the crucial upcoming matches for Arsenal. Their series of important games kick off with a clash against Manchester City on April 31.

Although Saka's absence is a setback for Gareth Southgate, the England manager, he still has some time before finalizing his squad for Euro 2024. The 22-year-old forward has been a standout player for England, winning the England Men's Player of the Year award in the past two seasons.

Southgate would have undoubtedly preferred the opportunity to test Saka alongside key players like Phil Foden and Harry Kane in matches against top-tier opponents. However, with only friendlies against Brazil and Belgium before the Euro 2024 squad announcement, Southgate's options for assessing combinations are limited.

Saka's exceptional form for Arsenal this season has been noteworthy, with 16 goals and 13 assists across all competitions. His contributions have been instrumental in Arsenal's pursuit of the Premier League title.

Despite facing minor setbacks, such as a hamstring issue earlier in the season, Saka's resilience has been vital in Arsenal's ascent to contention at the top of the league table. Manager Mikel Arteta will certainly be relying on Saka's presence to bolster their chances, particularly in the upcoming crucial match against Manchester City.
