A Calgary-based dessert company has introduced a new frozen treat just in time for summer. Righteous Gelato has launched its Sorbetto Bars across Canada, now available at major grocery stores including Loblaws, Real Canadian Superstore, and Whole Foods. More stores, including Sobeys and Metro, will carry the product as summer begins.
A Fresh Take on Frozen Desserts
The company has built its reputation on dairy-free frozen desserts. With this new product, it brings those same fruit-based flavours into a convenient bar format. The Sorbetto Bars aim to offer a refreshing option for warm weather, designed for easy enjoyment on the go.
Each bar uses real fruit and carefully selected ingredients. The company avoids artificial colours and flavours, and the product meets non-GMO standards. With only 70 calories per bar, the new treat offers a lighter option compared to many traditional frozen snacks.
Smooth Texture and Bold Flavours
The Sorbetto Bars stand out for their smooth and creamy texture, which differs from a typical ice pop. The company says the product keeps the rich taste and soft feel found in its popular dairy-free pints.
The initial lineup includes two flavours: raspberry lime and mango pineapple. Both come in packs of four, making them easy to share or store at home.
Meeting Changing Consumer Demand
The launch comes as more Canadians look for dairy-free and fruit-based desserts. The company saw an opportunity to offer something new that fits changing tastes while keeping its focus on flavour and quality.
The new bar format also creates more ways for customers to enjoy the brand’s products. Instead of serving dessert in a bowl, people can now grab a bar for quick moments, whether at home or outdoors.
Company Looks Ahead
The company plans to promote the new product across the country. In 2026, it expects to distribute more than 100,000 sample bars to introduce customers to the new offering.
"We're dropping bars," says James Boettcher. "We looked at our dairy free pints and thought, what if this had a stick and even fewer obstacles between freezer and happiness? Same smooth texture, same bold fruit flavour, just built for summer."
Expanding Presence Nationwide
The Sorbetto Bars mark a new step for the company as it continues to grow its product range. The items are already available in hundreds of grocery stores across Canada, with more locations expected to carry them in the coming months.
As summer approaches, the company hopes the new treat will become a popular choice for everything from backyard gatherings to quick cool-down breaks.
