In celebration of Polly Pocket's 35th anniversary, Airbnb is offering a unique opportunity for fans: a life-sized replica of the 1994 Slumber Party Fun Compact for sleepovers in Littleton, Massachusetts. This special rental experience will be available starting August 21, giving guests a chance to relive the charm of this iconic toy in a truly immersive way.
The replica compact, designed to be a full-sized version of the original toy, features five beds and a private half-bath, ensuring comfort for up to four guests. The rental will open its doors for three exclusive one-night stays from September 12 to September 14, with bookings available on a first-come, first-served basis. Each stay costs $89 per person, a nod to the year Polly Pocket first debuted on store shelves.
Ali Killam from Airbnb shared with WBZ-TV that this initiative is all about bringing beloved icons to life. "For 35 years, Polly's been pocket-sized, and now for the first time ever, people are able to experience the larger-than-life version of Polly," Killam said. The goal is to create a fun and nostalgic experience that immerses guests in Polly Pocket's world in a way they haven't experienced before.
Guests staying at the Polly Pocket compact can enjoy various activities. They can relax on a pullout couch in Polly's living room and watch TV or explore her closet, which is made from the same glossy, gummy material that fans remember from the original dolls. The experience also includes a snack tent with treats from a local bakery and a custom charm bracelet-making activity, allowing guests to add a personal touch to their visit.
Littleton, Massachusetts was chosen for this special event because of its connection to Polly Pocket. "Polly Pocket is known as the adventure doll, so we wanted to pick a place that had a lot of adventure for guests to explore," Killam explained. The charming and quaint town provides the perfect backdrop for this whimsical experience.
In addition to the overnight stays, there will be daytime adventure experiences available for up to 12 guests each, running from September 18 to October 6. These daytime experiences offer another chance for fans to engage with Polly Pocket's world in a fun and memorable way.
