Wizz Air has introduced an enticing offer for travel enthusiasts: an "All You Can Fly" pass that grants unlimited flights across Europe and the Mediterranean for a year, starting from September 25. This pass is priced at €499 (US$549) if purchased before midnight today in Hungary, where the airline is headquartered. After this deadline, the price will rise to €599 (US$660).
The pass offers a unique opportunity for frequent travellers. It allows for unlimited flights, with the option to fly up to three times a day. Each flight segment will cost an additional €9.99 (US$11), though this basic ticket does not include extras like luggage, seat assignments, or priority boarding, which come at an additional cost.
However, this offer comes with some caveats. Flights can only be booked within 72 hours of departure, making it ideal for those who can travel on short notice. Bookings must be for one-way trips, and passengers must manage their return flights separately. The pass also has a strict policy on cancellations—if you cancel three times, your pass will be revoked. Furthermore, the pass renews automatically, so it must be cancelled if you do not wish to continue.
The pass covers the entire Wizz Air network, which spans much of Europe, the Mediterranean, and parts of the Middle East. Notably, domestic flights within Italy are excluded from this offer. Prospective buyers must select a preferred departure airport, though many options have already sold out. Wizz Air reserves the right to cancel passes if it suspects fraudulent use of the departure location.
There are no guarantees of a seat on any given flight, as availability depends on factors such as seat capacity, passenger numbers, and the total number of All You Can Fly members, which is capped at 10,000. The airline has not provided details on how seat allocation will be managed or at what capacity flights will be available.
For frequent travellers who are flexible with their schedules and travel light, this pass might be a great deal. It is especially suitable for solo travellers, as there is no guarantee that companions will also secure seats on the same flights. A regular Wizz Air flyer noted that they typically pay around €50 for a one-way ticket when booked in advance, making the pass potentially valuable for those who can make the most of its flexibility.
On the other hand, potential buyers should consider the environmental impact. Wizz Air's rapid expansion and budget model contribute to aviation's poor environmental record, according to advocacy group Transport & Environment. Additionally, the airline has faced criticism for delays, being named the worst for U.K. flight delays for three consecutive years.
