NBA superstar Stephen Curry has agreed to a one-year contract extension with the Golden State Warriors for the 2026-27 season. The deal, worth nearly $63 million, secures the future of one of the greatest shooters in basketball history for an additional year. Curry’s contract extension was confirmed by the Warriors on Thursday, following an initial report from ESPN. Jeff Austin, Curry’s agent from Octagon, later verified the news to The Associated Press.
This new contract guarantees Curry an impressive $178 million over the next three seasons. For the 2024-25 season, he will earn about $55.8 million, followed by approximately $59.6 million for the 2025-26 season, and now $62.6 million for 2026-27, which is the highest amount the Warriors could offer under NBA rules.

By the end of the 2026-27 season, Curry's career earnings on the court will reach around $532 million. This places him second in NBA history for total earnings, trailing only LeBron James, who has accumulated $580 million from player contracts throughout his career.

Now entering his 16th NBA season, Curry has spent his entire professional career with the Warriors. He is a 10-time NBA All-Star and has been selected to the All-NBA team 10 times. Over his illustrious career, Curry has led the Warriors to four NBA championships and has won two NBA MVP awards. Additionally, this summer, Curry added an Olympic gold medal to his list of accolades, playing a pivotal role in Team USA’s victory over France in the final game of the Paris Olympics.

Curry had an outstanding season last year, averaging 26.4 points per game for the Warriors. Over his entire career, he has averaged 24.8 points per game, solidifying his status as one of the most consistent and dominant players in NBA history. With this extension, the Warriors are making it clear that they are committed to keeping Curry as the face of the franchise as they continue to strive for more championships.
