Mitch Marner scored the game-winning goal in the final seconds of overtime, capping off a thrilling comeback as the Toronto Maple Leafs defeated the Boston Bruins 5-4 on Tuesday night. Toronto battled back from a three-goal deficit, securing a dramatic win in front of an electrified crowd.

With less than a minute remaining in regulation, the Maple Leafs pulled their goalie for an extra attacker. Pontus Holmberg found the puck in a scramble near the net and pushed it past the Bruins’ goaltender, tying the game at 4-4 with just 46 seconds left. Boston had taken the lead earlier in the period when David Pastrnak scored his second goal of the night, but Toronto refused to back down.

Pastrnak got the Bruins off to a fast start, scoring on a breakaway just seconds into the game. His goal extended his career-best point streak to 15 games. Boston continued its strong play, building a 3-0 lead midway through the second period when Morgan Geekie scored on a power play.

Toronto finally responded with a goal from Morgan Rielly, cutting the deficit to 3-1. That shift in momentum helped spark the Maple Leafs, who kept pressuring the Bruins’ defense. Nicholas Robertson added another goal for Toronto, bringing them within one before Marner netted his first goal to tie it at 3-3.

Boston regained the lead when Pastrnak struck again, but Toronto refused to quit. Holmberg’s last-minute goal sent the game to overtime, where Marner sealed the comeback with a clutch shot in the final seconds.

The win marked Toronto’s sixth victory in their last seven games, showing their resilience and ability to perform under pressure. For the Bruins, the loss was a tough blow after controlling the game early.
