The Buffalo Sabres finally put an end to their six-game losing streak with a 3-2 win over the Edmonton Oilers on Monday night. Tage Thompson led the charge with two goals, pushing his season tally to 33. Alex Tuch also found the back of the net, while goaltender Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen delivered a strong performance with 32 saves.

Despite efforts from Evan Bouchard and Darnell Nurse, who each scored for Edmonton, the Oilers couldn't overcome their struggles, losing for the seventh time in 10 games. Leon Draisaitl contributed two assists, extending his impressive point streak to 15 games, with 11 goals and 12 assists in that span. Goalie Stuart Skinner made 19 saves but couldn't keep the Oilers from another defeat.

Senators Edge Red Wings in 2-1 Victory

Ottawa’s Linus Ullmark proved why he’s a crucial asset, stopping an incredible 48 shots in the Senators’ 2-1 win over the Detroit Red Wings. Ullmark was especially dominant in the second period, turning aside all 27 shots to tie a franchise record.

Dylan Cozens made an impact by scoring his first goal as a Senator, while David Perron also added to the scoreboard. Detroit’s Dylan Larkin managed to sneak one past Ullmark in the third period, but Cam Talbot’s 21 saves weren’t enough to secure a Red Wings win.

Maple Leafs Win Shootout Thriller Against Utah

Toronto Maple Leafs secured a hard-fought 4-3 victory over the Utah Hockey Club in a shootout. Mitch Marner sealed the deal with the decisive shootout goal, helping Toronto break a three-game skid.

In regulation, William Nylander, Calle Jarnkrok, and Simon Benoit scored for the Maple Leafs, with Joseph Woll making 30 saves. Utah, riding momentum from four wins in its last six games, fought back with goals from Nick Schmaltz, Barrett Hayton, and Michael Carcone.

Toronto seemed in control early, jumping to a 3-0 lead midway through the second period. However, Utah staged a dramatic comeback, tying the game in the second. In the shootout, Auston Matthews scored for Toronto, while Clayton Keller kept Utah in it before Marner clinched the win.

Avalanche Shut Out Blackhawks, Extend Streak

Colorado Avalanche continued their dominance with a 3-0 shutout win over the Chicago Blackhawks, marking their sixth consecutive victory. Artturi Lehkonen and Martin Necas scored in the third period, while Nathan MacKinnon hit a career milestone, surpassing 1,000 points.

Joel Kiviranta sealed the game with an empty-net goal, and Scott Wedgewood stood tall in net, making 20 saves for his second shutout of the season. Chicago’s struggles persisted, losing for the eighth time in 11 games, despite Spencer Knight’s 18 saves.

MacKinnon’s historic moment came just 31 seconds into the third when he assisted Lehkonen’s goal, followed by another assist minutes later on Necas’ goal. The Avalanche wrapped up a perfect home stand, finishing 6-0-0.
