The Montreal Canadiens delivered a decisive 6-3 victory over the Ottawa Senators on Tuesday night, putting an end to Ottawa’s impressive six-game winning streak. Nick Suzuki sealed the win with a crucial power-play goal late in the third period, taking advantage of a misstep by Senators’ goalie Linus Ullmark, who failed to secure the puck properly. Suzuki’s goal at 15:23 broke the 3-3 tie and gave Montreal the lead, helping them claim their third win in four games.

Josh Anderson played a pivotal role for Montreal, netting two goals, including a late empty-netter. Lane Hutson and Christian Dvorak also found the back of the net, while Brendan Gallagher added another empty-net goal to secure the win. Canadiens’ goaltender Sam Montembeault stood strong, making 22 saves to keep Ottawa at bay.

The Senators put up a fight, with Travis Hamonic contributing a goal and an assist. Michael Amadio and Drake Batherson also scored for Ottawa, but it wasn’t enough to keep their winning streak alive. Ullmark managed 27 saves but couldn’t prevent Montreal’s offensive push in the final period.

Flames Edge Rangers 2-1

Nazem Kadri and Matt Coronato struck early in the first period to give the Calgary Flames a 2-1 victory over the New York Rangers. Defenseman MacKenzie Weegar assisted on both goals, while Kadri also notched an assist, breaking Calgary’s three-game losing streak. Flames’ goalie Dan Vladar was solid between the pipes, stopping 12 shots.

New York’s Artemi Panarin netted his 30th goal of the season, but despite Igor Shesterkin’s impressive 33 saves, the Rangers couldn’t rally. Outshot 35-13, the team dropped its second consecutive home game and slipped out of the Eastern Conference wild-card spot following Montreal’s win over Ottawa.

Islanders Rally in Third to Beat Penguins 4-2

Trailing 2-0 heading into the third, the New York Islanders exploded with four unanswered goals to stun the Pittsburgh Penguins 4-2. Pierre Engvall netted the go-ahead goal, while Kyle Palmieri contributed a goal and two assists. Noah Dobson and Simon Holmstrom also found the net, helping New York pull off another comeback victory. Islanders’ goalie Ilya Sorokin made 20 saves to secure the win.

Sidney Crosby scored his 24th goal of the season for Pittsburgh, while Joona Koppanen celebrated his first NHL goal. Goaltender Tristan Jarry made 34 saves but couldn’t hold off the Islanders’ third-period surge.

Capitals Dominate Red Wings 4-1

Dylan Strome led the charge for the Washington Capitals, registering a goal and an assist in their 4-1 victory over the struggling Detroit Red Wings. Pierre-Luc Dubois, Tom Wilson, and Connor McMichael also scored, lifting Washington to their seventh win in eight games.

Detroit’s only goal came from Dylan Larkin as the team continued their slump, losing eight of their last ten games. Red Wings goalie Petr Mrazek, making his fourth consecutive start, stopped 22 of 26 shots, while Washington’s Logan Thompson secured his fifth straight win with 22 saves, inching closer to a franchise record.
