The Toronto Maple Leafs edged closer to claiming the Atlantic Division title with a decisive 4-1 win against the Carolina Hurricanes on Sunday night. Goalie Joseph Woll stood tall, blocking 25 shots to secure the team’s 50th win of the season.

Pontus Holmberg opened the scoring early, followed by goals from Auston Matthews, William Nylander, and John Tavares. Morgan Rielly played a key role in setting up three of the four goals. Toronto’s momentum continues to surge as they’ve now won three in a row and seven of their last eight games. With 104 points, they remain out of reach for Tampa Bay, who can at best match their total.

Carolina’s Sebastian Aho managed to score during a third-period power play, but the Hurricanes continue to struggle, having dropped five of their last six. Frederik Andersen, with 16 saves, has now lost his third straight game in goal.

Stutzle’s Overtime Heroics Lift Senators Over Flyers 4-3

In Ottawa, Tim Stutzle delivered a clutch overtime goal on the power play to complete a comeback win for the Senators over the Flyers. Stutzle netted two goals on the night, including the game-winner just 1:40 into the extra frame.

Despite securing a playoff berth, Ottawa rested several key players. Philadelphia took the early lead, but Ottawa answered quickly. Thomas Chabot tied the game late in regulation, setting the stage for Stutzle’s finish in overtime. Anton Forsberg made 29 saves for the Sens.

Horvat, Sorokin Shine in Islanders’ 1-0 Shutout Against Devils

Bo Horvat scored late in the second period, and Ilya Sorokin recorded his fourth shutout of the season as the Islanders defeated the Devils. Sorokin made 25 saves, reaching 30 wins for the second time in his career.

The game turned physical when Devils forward Paul Cotter delivered a high hit on Adam Pelech, leading to a game misconduct. Despite being eliminated from playoff contention a day earlier, the Islanders snapped their losing streak with the win.

Bruins Drop Penguins 4-1 With Strong Offensive Display

Elias Lindholm led the Bruins past the Penguins with a goal and an assist. Joonas Korpisalo made 24 saves, and Boston never looked back after Lindholm’s late first-period goal.

Fabian Lysell and Morgan Geekie added goals in the second period, while Jakub Lauko sealed the game with an empty-netter. Rickard Rakell scored Pittsburgh’s only goal.

Blue Jackets Stay Alive, Beat Capitals 4-1

Columbus kept their playoff dreams alive by toppling the East-leading Capitals. Adam Fantilli scored twice, while Jet Greaves stopped 29 shots in his third start in four days. Despite an early goal by Alex Ovechkin, Columbus came roaring back with four unanswered goals to sweep the weekend series.

Lightning Outgun Sabres 7-4 in Scoring Frenzy

Jake Guentzel hit the 40-goal mark with two goals as the Lightning rallied past the Sabres. Nikita Kucherov added two goals and an assist, and Tampa scored four times in the second period to take control.

Oilers Down Jets 4-1 as Playoff Picture Tightens

With Winnipeg already clinching the Presidents’ Trophy, Edmonton took advantage of a resting Jets squad. Corey Perry led the Oilers with a goal and assist, and Stuart Skinner returned to make 17 saves after missing eight games.

Flames Beat Sharks 5-2, Stay in the Playoff Hunt

Yegor Sharangovich scored twice, including the go-ahead goal early in the third, to lift the Flames over the Sharks. Calgary is pushing for a playoff spot and now sits just behind St. Louis and Minnesota.

Avalanche Storm Back in 3rd to Beat Ducks 4-2

Charlie Coyle sparked a four-goal third-period outburst as Colorado came from behind to beat Anaheim. Resting several starters, the Avalanche still managed to rally, with Scott Wedgewood stopping 18 shots.
