Yegor Sharangovich delivered a standout performance on Sunday night, scoring twice to help the Calgary Flames down the San Jose Sharks 5-2. With just two games left in the regular season, the Flames are keeping their playoff hopes alive.

Sharangovich's two goals not only pushed his goal streak to three consecutive games but also marked a personal milestone—100 career NHL goals. That achievement puts him in elite company, as he becomes only the third Belarusian-born player to reach that number, joining Mikhail Grabovski and Andrei Kostitsyn.

Calgary’s scoring didn’t stop with Sharangovich. MacKenzie Weegar, Adam Klapka, and Matt Coronato also found the back of the net. Jonathan Huberdeau added two assists to fuel the offensive drive. The Flames have now collected points in six straight games, improving their recent run to 4-0-2.

San Jose, meanwhile, continued its downward slide. Goals from Tyler Toffoli and Jan Ruuta weren’t enough to stop their winless streak from stretching to nine games. The Sharks haven’t won since late March.

The Flames are now just two points behind St. Louis for the final wild card spot in the Western Conference. They also hold a game in hand over the Blues, although they lose the tie-breaker in the standings. Every goal and every save now carries massive weight.

Rookie goaltender Dustin Wolf, making his seventh consecutive start, stood tall once again. He blocked 28 shots to secure the win and now holds a 28-16-8 record this season. Interestingly, Wolf has been in net for all four games against the Sharks this year—and Calgary won them all. He’s now 13-1-1 against California-based teams in his career. Not bad for a goalie from Gilroy, California.

At the opposite end of the rink, San Jose’s Georgi Romanov made 25 saves but remains winless in the NHL with a 0-6-0 record.

Tyler Toffoli gave the Sharks an early boost, scoring just three minutes into the game. That marked his 30th goal of the season—making it three straight 30-goal seasons across four teams. After a career-best 34 goals with Calgary last year, he tallied 33 more split between the Devils and Jets before returning west.

As for the Flames, Adam Klapka continues to shine after being promoted to the top line. The towering right winger has now posted seven points in his last 11 games. He had a two-point night, including setting up the first goal and scoring another minutes later.

The pivotal moment came early in the third period. Tied at two, Sharangovich took a clean pass from Morgan Frost and ripped it into the top corner, giving the Flames a lead they wouldn’t let go.
