Dalibor Dvorsky’s first NHL goal sparked a stunning comeback for the St. Louis Blues, ending their seven-game losing streak with a thrilling 3-2 victory over the Edmonton Oilers on Monday night.

Dalibor Dvorsky Ignites the Comeback

The 18-year-old rookie made his mark with a powerful one-timer during a power play late in the second period. His shot, perfectly set up, cut Edmonton’s lead to 2-1 with 3:52 left on the clock. Dropping to one knee, Dvorsky celebrated passionately — a moment Blues fans had been waiting for since he was drafted 10th overall in 2023.

That goal gave the Blues a spark they desperately needed after a rough stretch of games.

Thomas Levels the Score

Robert Thomas, returning from a four-game absence due to an upper-body injury, made an immediate impact. Early in the third period, Thomas capitalized on a lucky bounce when Philip Broberg’s missed shot rebounded off the boards right to him. He banked the puck off Edmonton goaltender Calvin Pickard, tying the game 2-2.

Thomas finished the night with a goal and an assist, proving just how vital he is to the Blues’ offense.

Suter’s Late Heroics Seal the Win

With the game tied and tension building, Pius Suter delivered when it mattered most. With only 1:23 remaining, Suter crashed the net and buried a rebound off Colton Parayko’s shot to put the Blues ahead 3-2.

The goal capped a determined comeback and handed St. Louis its first win since October 18 — a much-needed confidence boost after a difficult run.

Binnington Shines Between the Pipes

Goaltender Jordan Binnington played a crucial role in securing the victory. He faced 26 shots and stopped 24 of them, holding firm as the Oilers pressed late in the game.

For St. Louis, Binnington’s steady performance was a reminder of his reliability under pressure — especially in close, high-stakes games.

Oilers Start Strong but Fade Late

Edmonton looked sharp early on. Jack Roslovic opened the scoring late in the first period, finishing a crisp feed from Connor McDavid just eight seconds into a St. Louis penalty.

Andrew Mangiapane doubled the lead in the second with a quick one-timer off a 4-on-2 rush. Both McDavid and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins tallied two assists each, but the Oilers couldn’t maintain their early momentum.

Pickard made 19 saves in goal for Edmonton, but defensive lapses in the third period cost them the game.

A Win That Brings Relief to St. Louis

For the Blues, this victory was more than just two points — it was a morale lifter. Breaking a seven-game slide restored belief in the locker room and showed flashes of the team’s potential when playing with energy and structure.

Head coach Drew Bannister praised the team’s resilience, noting how Dvorsky’s goal shifted the momentum. The young forward’s first NHL tally might just be the turning point in St. Louis’s season.

What’s Next

The Edmonton Oilers will look to bounce back quickly as they visit the Dallas Stars on Tuesday. The St. Louis Blues, meanwhile, head to Washington to face the Capitals on Wednesday, hoping to build on this much-needed win.
