Melania Trump marked an early Valentine’s Day with a visit to The Children’s Inn in Bethesda, Maryland, where she spent time with young patients and joined them for arts and crafts activities.
The First Lady arrived on Wednesday wearing a tailored khaki dress that reflected her signature style. The mid-calf design featured long sleeves, a structured collar and gold buttons running down the front. She paired the look with a wide reddish-brown belt at the waist and nude pointed heels. Her blonde-brown hair fell in soft waves, and her white manicure stood out as she interacted warmly with the children.
Time with Young Patients
The Children’s Inn provides housing and support programs for children with rare and serious illnesses. During her visit, Melania sat with the children to create Valentine’s crafts and decorations.
A dessert bar had been arranged for the occasion. However, she mentioned that she does not eat many sweets, explaining that "sugar is not that healthy for us."
The visit highlighted her continued involvement in causes that support children and families facing medical challenges.
Reflecting on Her Role
The outing came less than two weeks after the release of her documentary, which explores the period leading up to her husband’s inauguration in January 2025.

In a recent interview, Melania spoke about returning to the role of First Lady and how her perspective has evolved since her first term.
"Being First Lady is a unique and impactful role," Melania said.
"It provides an opportunity to shape and influence the nation's legacy. It is essential to recognize, however, that my contributions will be viewed through many lenses. It is crucial to remain mindful and to strive for a legacy that reflects one's true values and intentions."
She also emphasized her focus on advancing the responsibilities tied to the position.
"I always want to advance the position of First Lady," she continued. "Immediately upon assuming the role again, I worked strategically with Congress to pass new legislation – the Take It Down Act – that will protect America's children from non-consensual intimate imagery, typically created using AI, then posted on social media."
"It is undeniable that we have much work to do as a nation to ensure the next generation thrives. Naturally, this begins within our homes."
Signature Style on Display
Fashion observers have long noted Melania’s preference for clean lines and tailored pieces. Her appearance at The Children’s Inn followed that familiar approach.
"I style myself and choose what to wear based on what I feel good in," she told Elle. "My style has stayed pretty consistent over the years. I always wear what I like and what is appropriate for the occasion."
Her stylist, Hervé Pierre, has also described her strong sense of personal style.
"She likes tailored suits and sharp lines. She will not start wearing ruffles and floral prints just because she is starting a new chapter," he explained.
"She gravitates towards strong tailoring, sleek looks and perfect cuts with no fuss. Her style has been consistent for years; there is no reason why she would change it. It will evolve, certainly, but the core of her look will remain in the same vein. She was always confident in her choices – I am just helping her."
As she spent time with the children on Wednesday, Melania’s outfit and message both reflected consistency — a focus on children’s well-being and a style defined by structure and simplicity.
