A trip to Los Angeles proved to be a reality check for Inter Miami as they drew 1-1 against the Galaxy, with Lionel Messi scoring a 92nd-minute goal. Jordi Alba provided the assist for Messi's goal after Marco Delgado was sent off for a controversial foul on Sergio Busquets.

The match was characterized by strong performances from the goalkeepers, John McCarthy and Drake Callender, who made numerous saves. However, Callender's rebound from Riqui Puig's shot led to the Galaxy's goal, which Delgado assisted. Callender also saved a penalty.

Despite the Galaxy's 4.05 expected goals (xG), they failed to capitalize on their chances. Diego Gomez left the match with an injury, which is a concern for Inter Miami. Lawson Sunderland replaced him. Although Inter Miami left with a point, there are doubts about their long-term success, although Federico Redondo is set to join the team soon.

Inter Miami will face Orlando City on March 2 and will also play in the Concacaf Champions Cup round of 16 on March 17 against Real Salt Lake and the Galaxy. They have yet to face a team that can capitalize on their mistakes, but this is likely to change.

The Galaxy would likely have won the match if it had been played two weeks later. Paintsil and Gabriel Pec had strong performances, but they need to improve their passing and teamwork. Miami was fortunate to escape with a draw, similar to their first match against Real Salt Lake.

Inter Miami has four points early in the season, but they need to improve their defense and midfield to compete for a trophy. Martino must provide support for Busquets while maintaining a strong attack.
