Travelers on Seabourn's 2024 Grand Africa Voyage will have a chance to explore more deeply with a range of newly announced experiences called "Seabourn Journeys." These options allow guests to extend their travels with overnight stays in various locations, enhancing their adventure beyond just a cruise.

These Journeys, announced by the luxury cruise line, offer unique land experiences that go beyond typical day trips. For example, those interested in wildlife can participate in safaris to see Africa's famous "Big Five." Mid-cruise options let guests stay in extraordinary lodges and national parks in places like Botswana and Namibia.

Wine enthusiasts can indulge in gourmet dining and wine tastings at La Residence Wine Estate in Franschhoek during four-day pre- and post-cruise stays. According to Natalya Leahy, president of Seabourn, these experiences aim to provide travelers with richer, more immersive connections to the places they visit.

La Residence Wine Experience

Duration: 4-day pre- or post-cruise Journey
Location: Cape Town, South Africa
Dates: Pre: January 25-28, 2025 | Post: January 28-31, 2025

Guests sailing from or to Cape Town can enjoy a stay in the picturesque Cape Winelands. After arriving, they will be transported to La Residence in the beautiful Franschhoek Valley. The second day includes visits to historic wine estates like Paarl and Boschendal, featuring tastings and a lovely picnic. The journey wraps up with more wine tastings before guests either head home or board the ship.

Grootbos Private Nature Reserve

Duration: 4-day post-cruise Journey
Location: Cape Town, South Africa
Dates: January 28-31, 2025

For those finishing their cruise in Cape Town, this post-cruise adventure takes guests to Grootbos Private Nature Reserve, known for its luxurious accommodations and conservation efforts. Guests will stay in elegant suites and enjoy activities like botanical hikes, 4x4 safaris, and visits to Walker Bay Nature Reserve. A marine safari guided by experts will give guests the chance to see whales, sharks, and more, all while dining at unique lodge restaurants.

Ultimate Botswana Experience

After disembarking in Durban, guests will fly to Johannesburg and stay at the Sanctuary Mandela Boutique Hotel. The journey continues to Botswana's Sanctuary Baines' Camp for game drives and mokoro excursions in the Okavango Delta. Guests will then move to Chief's Camp in the Moremi Game Reserve, renowned for its game viewing. This journey includes morning and afternoon game drives, gourmet meals, and optional activities.

Kariega Settlers Drift Safari

Location: Port Elizabeth, South Africa
Dates: January 25-28, 2025

Upon arrival in Port Elizabeth, guests head to the Kariega Game Reserve, a vast wilderness teeming with wildlife. Staying at Settlers Drift, guests will experience exhilarating game drives and enjoy gourmet dining. After their final game drive, they'll transfer to the airport to continue their voyage.

Escape To Etosha: Onguma The Fort

Duration: 4-day mid-cruise Journey

Dates: January 29-February 2, 2025

This luxurious safari offers breathtaking views at Onguma The Fort, where guests can enjoy guided game drives and stunning sunsets over the Etosha Pans. After an adventure-filled stay, they will fly to Walvis Bay to rejoin the Seabourn Sojourn.
