A Look Back at Dairy Queen’s History

Dairy Queen has been serving frozen treats since opening its first location in Joliet, Illinois, on June 22, 1940. The store was run by Sherwood "Sherb" Noble, and the brand quickly became known for its ice cream. In 1985, Dairy Queen introduced the Blizzard, which became an instant hit. Before the Blizzard, customers enjoyed classics like malts, shakes, banana splits, and the Dilly Bar.

Dairy Queen’s 85th birthday deal is a great opportunity for fans to celebrate with a sweet treat while trying new and returning Blizzard flavors.
