Tryst Hospitality has brought back a glamorous drink with a meaningful twist — the Elizabeth Taylor Chocolate Martini. The original drink came from a playful moment between Taylor and Rock Hudson on the set of the 1955 film Giant. Today, it’s been reimagined for modern bars while keeping its indulgent charm.

The cocktail mixes Tito’s Vodka, Kahlúa, and rich chocolate syrup. It’s shaken over ice and served smooth and chilled. But this drink isn’t just about taste. Each martini sold gives $1 to The Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation (ETAF), an organization dedicated to fighting for an AIDS-free future.

From Hollywood to Worldwide Venues

The Abbey in West Hollywood has long been a partner in raising awareness for HIV/AIDS, hosting annual World AIDS Day events with ETAF. Now, the partnership has expanded to all Tryst Hospitality locations, including:

  • The Abbey and The Chapel at The Abbey (West Hollywood)
  • The Tryst Puerto Vallarta
  • The Tryst Fire Island (opening 2026)
  • The Tryst San Juan (under renovation)
  • Circo San Juan (opening Fall 2025)
  • The Blue Whale and Pavilion (Fire Island Pines)

Each venue will make a guaranteed yearly donation to ETAF, with liquor brands adding extra support when possible.

Honouring Elizabeth Taylor’s Legacy

Tryst founder Tristan Schukraft sees this as more than a menu item.
“Elizabeth Taylor talked about AIDS publicly before anyone else would,” he said. “She hosted the first fundraisers, stood beside our community when others wouldn’t, and used her voice when it mattered most. In life, she was our champion — and in death, she continues to be.”

ETAF Executive Director Cathy Brown agrees. “Elizabeth believed in using every platform to raise awareness and funds for the fight against HIV. This initiative brings her spirit into spaces where community thrives,” she said.

A Sip That Gives Back

The Elizabeth Taylor Chocolate Martini is now available at participating Tryst locations. Guests can enjoy a decadent drink while supporting a cause that Taylor championed for decades. With each glass, her commitment to compassion, activism, and community lives on.
