Starbucks is making big changes to its cafes and menu, according to its CEO. Reuters

Starbucks is making big changes to its menu starting March 4. The company is removing several drinks, including multiple Frappuccino flavors. Some other beverages, like the Honey Almondmilk Flat White and Iced Matcha Lemonade, will also disappear.

Why Is Starbucks Changing Its Menu?

This update is part of a bigger plan to improve the company’s operations. Starbucks wants to make ordering faster, improve drink quality, and focus on its most popular items. The company said the goal is to stay true to its identity as a coffee brand.

The menu update follows other major decisions under CEO Brian Niccol’s leadership. Starbucks has already changed store policies, added new features to its coffee shops, and recently announced layoffs affecting 1,100 corporate employees.

The following Frappuccino flavors will no longer be available after March 4:

  • Espresso Frappuccino
  • Caffè Vanilla Frappuccino
  • Java Chip Frappuccino
  • White Chocolate Mocha Frappuccino
  • Chai Crème Frappuccino
  • Caramel Ribbon Crunch Crème Frappuccino
  • Double Chocolaty Chip Crème Frappuccino
  • Chocolate Cookie Crumble Crème Frappuccino
  • White Chocolate Crème Frappuccino

Frappuccinos have been a Starbucks favorite for years. The company first introduced them in 1995 after acquiring the rights to the drink name. Over the years, more flavors and toppings were added, including whipped cream and mix-ins like chocolate chips.

What’s Staying on the Menu?

Not all Frappuccinos are disappearing. Starbucks will still offer:

  • Coffee Frappuccino
  • Caramel Frappuccino
  • Caramel Ribbon Crunch Frappuccino
  • Mocha Frappuccino
  • Mocha Cookie Crumble Frappuccino
  • Vanilla Bean Crème Frappuccino
  • Strawberry Crème Frappuccino
  • Matcha Crème Frappuccino

Can You Customize Your Drink?

Starbucks suggests some ways to recreate discontinued Frappuccinos:

  • If you love the Espresso Frappuccino, try adding a shot of espresso to a Coffee Frappuccino.
  • Fans of the Java Chip Frappuccino can try the Mocha Cookie Crumble Frappuccino, which has a similar texture.
  • Those who like Chai Crème Frappuccino might enjoy adding flavors to the Vanilla Bean Frappuccino.

How Customers Are Reacting

Reactions on social media have been mixed. Some Starbucks fans are disappointed that their favorite drinks are leaving. Others understand the company’s decision, saying a smaller menu might improve service.

  • Dunkin’ has Frozen Coffees with flavors like Mocha and Butter Pecan Swirl.
  • McDonald’s offers McCafé Caramel and Mocha Frappés.
