Zachary Levi, known for his role as Flynn Rider in Disney's animated hit Tangled, has shared his thoughts on who might take over the role in a live-action version of the film. Levi, who will next be seen in Harold and the Purple Crayon on August 2, admitted he's a bit too old to reprise his animated role but has a suggestion for who could fit the bill.
In a recent interview with ET, Levi proposed Timothée Chalamet as a great choice for Flynn Rider. “He’s already landing all sorts of roles, so why not?” Levi said. He acknowledged that he feels he might be too old to play Flynn again and doesn’t know many younger actors who could take on the role.

Levi’s Flynn Rider is a charming thief who helps the princess Rapunzel, voiced by Mandy Moore, in the 2010 film Tangled. The movie is a modern retelling of the classic Brothers Grimm fairy tale, where Rapunzel uses Flynn to help her achieve her dream of seeing the floating lanterns on her 18th birthday.
Levi also joked about how fun it would be if he and Mandy Moore could make cameo appearances as Rapunzel’s parents in a live-action version. Despite his enthusiasm, he expressed some disappointment that Disney has yet to announce a live-action adaptation. "I’m really proud of the movie and grateful to have been a part of it," he said.

Though he and Moore reprised their roles in the animated series Rapunzel’s Tangled Adventure from 2017 to 2020, Levi lamented that there was never a sequel to the original film. He remains excited about the possibility of a live-action remake and is eager to see how it turns out.
