Eugene and Dan Levy are set to bring their father-son comedic charm to the upcoming Emmy Awards.

The Canadian stars, who co-created the hit show "Schitt's Creek," expressed their excitement about hosting the ceremony next month.

"As two Canadians who received our Emmys in a quarantine tent, the chance to host this year in a real theater was more than enough motivation," the duo shared in a statement posted on the Television Academy's website on Friday.

This year marks a significant moment for the Emmys, as the Levys will be the first father-son pair to host the event in its 75-year history. It's also noteworthy that a Canadian hasn't hosted the awards since Howie Mandel did so in 2008.

Their hosting role comes four years after "Schitt's Creek" made history at the Emmys, sweeping the comedy categories with nine wins, the most ever for a comedy series in a single year. The Canadian-made sitcom focused on the once-wealthy Rose family.

Eugene Levy is also in the running for an Emmy this year. His Apple TV Plus show, "The Reluctant Traveler with Eugene Levy," is nominated for an outstanding hosted non-fiction series or special.

Dan Levy, meanwhile, recently played Andy Warhol in the Jerry Seinfeld Netflix comedy "Unfrosted," which is competing for the outstanding television movie Emmy.

The Emmy Awards will air on Sept. 15 on CTV and ABC.
