Sarah McLachlan, the celebrated British Columbia singer-songwriter, is receiving a special tribute with a commemorative stamp issued by Canada Post. The unveiling ceremony of this honour will take place next Tuesday at the Sarah McLachlan School of Music in Vancouver, an institution she founded to provide inclusive and accessible music education to children and youth.
McLachlan, known for her remarkable contributions to music, has earned both Grammy and Juno Awards and has sold over 40 million albums worldwide. Her unique blend of pop and folk music has produced memorable hits such as "Building a Mystery" and "Angel."

In addition to her latest recognition, McLachlan’s impressive career includes being inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame in 2017 and receiving the prestigious title of Officer of the Order of Canada in 1999. Her influence on the music industry and commitment to music education are celebrated through this stamp, highlighting her lasting impact on Canadian culture.

The Sarah McLachlan School of Music, which she established in 2022, reflects her dedication to making music education accessible to all. The school aims to break down barriers and provide opportunities for young people to engage with music, regardless of their background.
