Millie Bobby Brown has taken a stand against negative media coverage. The 21-year-old actress shared a three-minute video on her social media, calling out headlines and naming reporters who wrote critical articles about her appearance.

She has been attending events and promoting her latest film, The Electric State, while also making appearances at major award shows. However, she says the media’s focus has been unfairly fixated on her looks rather than her work.

“I grew up in front of the world, but for some reason, people can’t seem to grow up with me,” Brown said in her video. “Instead, they act like I should stay frozen in time, like I should still look the way I did in Stranger Things season one. And because I don’t, I’m now a target.”

The articles she highlighted criticize her hairstyle, facial features, and fashion choices, with some even suggesting she looks older than her age. Brown finds this deeply unsettling.

“The fact that adult writers are spending their time dissecting my face, my body, my choices is disturbing,” she said. “That some of these articles are written by women makes it even worse.”

Brown has been in the public eye since she was nine years old, starting with roles in Once Upon a Time in Wonderland and Intruders. She gained global fame in 2016 after being cast as Eleven in Netflix’s Stranger Things. The role earned her several award nominations and made her a household name.

Despite her success, she has often faced criticism about her appearance and maturity. In her video, she made it clear that she refuses to be shamed.

“I will not be shamed for how I look, how I dress, or how I present myself,” Brown said. “Let’s do better, not just for me, but for every young girl who deserves to grow up without fear of being torn apart for simply existing.”

Many celebrities have shown support for Brown’s message. Actress Sarah Jessica Parker praised her, saying she was “enormously proud.” Louis Partridge, Brown’s Enola Holmes co-star, commented, “Well said, Millie. Handled with grace.”

Mckenna Grace, known for The Handmaid’s Tale, also spoke up. “No young woman or person deserves to feel pressure or cruelty for simply existing. You are so well spoken and so beautiful. Thank you for making this video,” she wrote.

Brown’s powerful message has sparked conversations about how young women in the spotlight are treated. Fans and fellow actors hope her words will lead to more kindness and respect in the entertainment industry.
