Metallica fans are in for a treat! The legendary rock band’s high-energy performance from Mexico City is set to be an immersive experience on the Apple Vision Pro.
Apple announced on Tuesday that Metallica’s concert will be available on its Vision Pro headset starting this Friday. The show, recorded during the grand finale of the band’s sold-out M72 World Tour, promises an up-close-and-personal experience. Fans can enjoy iconic hits like Whiplash, One, and Enter Sandman with high-resolution 180-degree video and spatial audio.
With Apple’s cutting-edge technology, viewers will feel like they are with James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett, and Robert Trujillo. “With Metallica on Apple Vision Pro, you feel like you’re right there: front row, backstage, and even on stage with one of the biggest bands of all time,” said Tor Myhren, Apple’s vice president of marketing communications.
To capture the electrifying atmosphere, Apple built a custom stage layout with 14 immersive video cameras. Some of these cameras moved around the stage, giving fans a dynamic and unique perspective of the performance.
No Vision Pro? No Problem!
The Apple Vision Pro comes with a hefty $3,500 price tag, but Apple has made sure fans without the headset don’t miss out. Customers can book a demo at their nearest Apple Store to experience Metallica’s concert firsthand.
Metallica is the latest in a growing list of artists featured on the Vision Pro. Other performances include Alicia Keys and Raye, while The Weeknd offered fans an immersive music experience with The Weeknd: Open Hearts.
For Metallica fans, this is a chance to get closer than ever to the action—without leaving their homes.
