Disney is bringing back the magic of Lilo & Stitch with a brand-new live-action movie! The full trailer is finally here, and fans can’t wait to see their favorite blue alien back on screen. Directed by Dean Fleischer Camp, the movie will hit theaters on May 23.
Meet the Cast
This new version of Lilo & Stitch stars Maia Kealoha as Lilo, Sydney Elizabeth Agudong as her big sister Nani, and Kaipot Dudoit as David, Nani’s love interest. The movie also features Zach Galifianakis, Billy Magnussen, Courtney B. Vance, and Hannah Waddingham.
Some voices from the original animated movie are making a return too! Chris Sanders, Tia Carrere, Amy Hill, and Jason Scott Lee will be part of the film, bringing back the nostalgia for longtime fans.
A Familiar Story with a Fresh Touch
The movie stays true to the original 2002 animated classic. It follows Lilo, a lonely girl in Hawaii who finds what she thinks is a stray dog. But she soon realizes that her new pet, Stitch, is actually a wild alien experiment designed for destruction!
As Stitch causes chaos, Lilo teaches him about love and family. In the trailer, she sweetly tells him, “Sometimes family isn’t perfect. That doesn’t mean they aren’t good.”

The Team Behind the Movie
The film was written by Chris Kekaniokalani Bright and is based on the story by Chris Sanders and Dean DeBlois, who made the original movie. It is produced by Jonathan Eirich and Dan Lin.
One of the most exciting parts? Chris Sanders is back as the voice of Stitch! In an interview, he shared that he got a sneak peek of the film and loved what he saw.
Disney’s Live-Action Streak Continues
Disney has been making lots of live-action remakes lately, and they’ve been a huge success. Last year, Mufasa: The Lion King hit theaters and made over $700 million worldwide. Now, it’s Lilo & Stitch’s turn to shine!
Fans won’t have to wait much longer to see how the heartwarming tale of ohana comes to life on the big screen. Lilo & Stitch lands in theaters this May.
