Carson revealed in an interview with Entertainment Weekly that test screenings of the film led to surprising audience reactions.
"Adam [Brooks, the writer-director] would call me and say, ‘So many people told me they broke up with their boyfriend or quit their job,’” she shared.
The movie, she explained, isn’t just a romantic comedy—it raises deeper existential questions.
"We often forget the fearless dreamer we were as children. This film took me back to that version of myself," Carson said.
A Personal Connection
Carson admitted the movie influenced her own life as well.
"I left the set a different Sofia. I think little Sofia would be so proud," she reflected. Inspired by the film’s themes, she even started writing her own "life list"—and was amazed to see some of her dreams come true.

Joining Carson in The Life List are Connie Britton as Alex’s late mother and Kyle Allen as Brad, her love interest. The film, a mix of romance and self-discovery, debuted on Netflix on March 28.
