Deadly Night on Highway 101

A terrible crash in Falmouth, Nova Scotia, has taken five lives. One more person is fighting for survival in hospital. The two-car accident happened late Saturday night on Highway 101, between Hantsport and Falmouth.

It was just after 11 p.m. when emergency crews got the call. A Honda Civic and a Nissan Sentra, both going east, crashed into each other.

Lives Lost in Seconds

Inside the Honda Civic were a 43-year-old man and a 45-year-old woman. Both were from Falmouth. Sadly, they died at the scene.

The Nissan Sentra had three people inside. The driver was a 45-year-old woman from Oxford. She died along with a 58-year-old male passenger from Nappan.

A 50-year-old man, also from Oxford, was taken to hospital. Doctors could not save him.

One Man Still Critical

The only survivor is a 29-year-old man from British Columbia. Emergency teams airlifted him to the hospital. He remains in critical condition.

Highway Closed for Hours

Police closed Highway 101 for nearly 10 hours after the crash. Officers needed time to investigate the scene and collect all the evidence. A collision expert also arrived to help understand what happened.

Appeal for Witnesses

The police are still working to find out what caused the crash. They are asking people to come forward. Anyone who saw the crash or has dashcam or surveillance footage should contact the West Hants RCMP at 902-798-2207.

Authorities Investigate Further

The investigation is ongoing. Police haven’t said what may have led to the crash. They are examining the vehicles and road conditions. More updates are expected once officers gather more information.
