The future of Jasmin Savoy Brown in the "Scream" film franchise remains uncertain, according to recent statements from the actress. Brown, known for her role as Mindy Meeks-Martin in the 2022 release "Scream" and the preceding "Scream VI" in 2021, shared her uncertainty about returning for the next instalment when questioned by Entertainment Tonight after the 2024 Emmys.

In response to queries about her potential involvement in the upcoming film, Brown mentioned not receiving any calls and suggested reaching out to Spyglass Media Group, the film production company, for more information. The Post has sought comments from Spyglass Media Group regarding Brown's status but has not yet received a response.

This revelation follows the news that Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega will not be reprising their roles in the upcoming "Scream VII," expected to hit theaters in late 2024 or early 2025. Barrera, 33, was removed from the project in November due to controversial comments on social media related to the Israel-Hamas war. In an Instagram story, Barrera expressed condemnation for Anti-Semitism and Islamophobia, asserting her commitment to using her platform to raise awareness about important issues.

Both Barrera and Ortega played pivotal roles as sisters Sam and Tara Carpenter in the series, characters revealed to be connected to the iconic "Ghostface" killer from the original 1996 "Scream."

Ortega's absence from the franchise is attributed to scheduling conflicts with Season 2 of her Netflix show, "Wednesday." Despite their exit from the film, Barrera recently reunited with other "Scream" stars, including Mason Gooding, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Liana Liberato, Tony Revolori, Skeet Ulrich, and Jack Quaid. The reunion photo was shared by Barrera on Instagram, garnering positive comments from her co-stars.

In a series of social media posts, Barrera captioned the reunion photo with expressions of joy, and fellow cast members shared their excitement about the gathering.

Adding to the challenges faced by "Scream VII," director Christopher Landon disclosed in December that he had formally parted ways with the project. Landon, 48, conveyed his departure on the platform now known as X, citing the transformation of what was once a dream job into a challenging experience. Despite acknowledging disappointment for all involved, he emphasized the need to move on from the project.

As the production of "Scream VII" navigates through these changes, the uncertainties surrounding the cast and director continue to shape the narrative of the highly anticipated installment in the iconic horror franchise.
