Téa Leoni and Tim Daly. People
Téa Leoni and Tim Daly are officially married. The couple tied the knot in a quiet and intimate wedding in New York City. Only close family attended the ceremony. A representative for Leoni confirmed the happy news.
Love That Started on Set
Leoni, 59, and Daly, 69, first met in 2014. They worked together on the TV drama Madam Secretary, where they played husband and wife. The series aired from 2014 to 2019.
Their on-screen chemistry turned into a real-life romance. They began dating during the summer of 2014. Leoni had just finalized her divorce from actor David Duchovny, whom she was married to for 17 years.
That same summer, she supported Daly at one of his theater performances in Vermont. Their relationship remained mostly private in the beginning.
Going Public
The couple made their red carpet debut in April 2015. They attended the White House Correspondents’ Dinner together in Washington, D.C. They shared a table with veteran newsman Bob Schieffer and former U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine Albright.
Daly joked, “We’re gonna be a hot table,” referring to their high-profile dinner companions.
Schieffer shared how they ended up together at the event. He said he invited Leoni and told her to bring Daly along.
Cast Reactions and Support
After the event, their Madam Secretary co-star Geoffrey Arend confirmed the romance surprised the cast. He recalled hearing rumors but wasn’t sure if they were true.
“You don’t just ask your boss who they’re dating,” Arend said at the time. He added that once the news was out, the cast became very protective of them.
Arend also shared his support for the couple. “Tim’s the best — they’re really good together,” he said.
From TV Couple to Real-Life Partners
Over the years, Leoni and Daly have kept their relationship low-key. Even as public figures, they stayed away from the spotlight when it came to their personal life.
Their bond grew steadily and naturally after working side by side for six seasons. Their love story stayed out of the tabloids and remained grounded in friendship and shared values.
Their recent wedding reflects the same approach — simple, private, and meaningful.
