U.S. federal authorities arrested a 50-year-old Indiana woman after she posted violent threats online against President Donald Trump. Officials identified her as Nathalie Rose Jones. She now faces serious charges for what investigators described as alarming social media messages.

Threatening Posts Online

Court documents say Jones used Instagram and Facebook to threaten Trump. On August 6, she wrote she was willing to “sacrificially kill this POTUS” with others present. Days later, she urged the U.S. Secretary of Defense to organize Trump’s removal at the White House on August 16.

Secret Service Interviews

The U.S. Secret Service interviewed Jones on August 15. During the meeting, she called Trump a “terrorist” and a “Nazi.” Investigators say she carried a bladed object, which she claimed would help her “mission of killing” Trump. She said she wanted revenge for lives lost during the COVID-19 pandemic, which she blamed on his policies.

On August 16, Jones joined a protest march near the White House. Authorities say she again admitted to threatening Trump during a second interview. This time, she denied wanting to harm him immediately. However, agents confirmed she had written the online threats and arrested her.

History of Threats Against Trump

This is not the first time Trump has faced such threats. In July 2024, shots were fired at him during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. A supporter was killed, two more were injured, and a bullet grazed Trump’s ear before security killed the gunman.

Another man was arrested in Florida after carrying a rifle near Trump’s golf course. Agents fired a shot before police captured him.

In 2016, a British citizen tried to grab a police officer’s gun at a Trump rally in Las Vegas. He trained at a gun range the day before. Police quickly stopped him, and he later served a prison sentence.

In 2017, a man from North Dakota attempted to attack Trump’s motorcade with a stolen forklift. He planned to flip the president’s limo but got stuck in a fenced area. Officers caught him as he ran away.

Growing Security Concerns

Authorities say these repeated threats highlight the constant risks around public figures. While Trump survived past incidents, the latest arrest shows online threats can quickly escalate to serious investigations. Officials say they remain on high alert to protect political leaders from harm.
