Brad Pitt’s much-anticipated F1: The Movie has shifted gears from the big screen to home streaming. The high-octane drama, directed by Joseph Kosinski of Top Gun: Maverick fame, is now available digitally across the United States.

The film, which stunned at the summer box office, grossed more than $596 million worldwide. After its June theatrical debut, fans can now experience the speed and spectacle from their living rooms.

A Story of Redemption and Rivalry

At the heart of F1: The Movie is the story of Sonny Hayes, played by Pitt. Hayes was once Formula 1’s brightest prospect in the 1990s, but a devastating crash halted his rise and left him branded “the greatest that never was.”

Three decades later, Hayes drifts as a racer-for-hire until fate catches up with him. His former teammate Ruben Cervantes, portrayed by Javier Bardem, persuades him to return. Cervantes now owns a struggling Formula 1 team facing collapse, and Hayes is their last hope.

Back on the track, Hayes is paired with Joshua Pearce, a rookie played by Damson Idris. Pearce is ambitious, fiery, and determined to make his own mark. The partnership sparks tension, as Sonny realizes that in racing, teammates are also rivals.

“As the engines roar, Sonny’s past resurfaces,” the synopsis reads. “He discovers that redemption is a road he cannot travel alone.”

Filmed on Real Grand Prix Circuits

Adding authenticity to the film, many scenes were shot during actual Grand Prix weekends. Cameras captured the action as the cast filmed alongside real-world racing legends and crowds.

Seven-time Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton not only advised the production but also served as a producer, ensuring racing realism on screen. The film also features Kerry Condon, Tobias Menzies, and a strong supporting cast.

Critical Reception

The film has drawn praise from critics and audiences alike. Writing in his review, Variety’s Owen Gleiberman called it “a certain kind of summer movie that’s so revved and ready to go, so fuel-injected with flash and talent and star power… that before the movie is barely under way you can feel yourself getting excited about being excited. F1 is one of those movies.”

With breathtaking visuals, adrenaline-filled racing sequences, and a storyline built on resilience, F1: The Movie has become one of the standout releases of the year.

Where to Watch Online

Fans who missed the film in theaters can now watch it at home. The digital version is available in 4K Ultra HD on Prime Video, Apple TV, and other video-on-demand platforms.

The rental price is $19.99, giving viewers 30 days to begin watching. Once started, the film must be completed within 48 hours. For those wanting to keep it, the purchase price is $24.99.

Since the movie is produced by Apple Original Films, a physical DVD or Blu-ray release is unlikely. However, F1: The Movie is expected to join Apple TV+ later this year, with an estimated streaming debut in late November or early December.

A Summer Hit on the Fast Track

F1: The Movie has already cemented its place as one of the year’s biggest hits. Blending the energy of live Formula 1 racing with Hollywood storytelling, it offers both spectacle and heart.

Brad Pitt delivers as the veteran racer seeking redemption, while Damson Idris brings fresh intensity as the ambitious rookie. Together, they steer the film into a compelling drama about legacy, ambition, and second chances.

For viewers craving speed, spectacle, and star power, F1: The Movie is now just a click away.
