A reckless escapade at Abu Hasaniya Public Beach near Kuwait City turned into a scene of chaos when a driver lost control of his 4x4 SUV, leading to a dramatic flip that catapulted him into the Persian Gulf.
The incident unfolded as a blue-and-white Toyota FJ Cruiser was leisurely cruising along the water's edge. Suddenly, the driver, a 34-year-old man, accelerated, propelling the vehicle into the water where it began spinning out of control, as shown in a video shared on YouTube.
The SUV swerved violently, eventually flipping over multiple times due to the force of momentum. In a perilous moment, the driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was forcefully ejected from the vehicle, flying approximately 16 feet into the air before landing in the shallow waters.
Despite sustaining minor injuries, the driver managed to hastily exit the water, visibly favoring his left leg. Concerned bystanders rushed to his aid upon his return to shore.
Local authorities, including fire services, were summoned to extract the submerged vehicle from the water. Subsequently, officials from the Mubarak Al-Kabeer Governorate seized the car. The report from the US Sun did not specify whether any legal action would be taken against the driver in connection with the incident.
The reckless nature of the driver's actions drew criticism from local residents, who condemned his behavior as childish and dangerous. One individual likened the absence of a seatbelt to giving a child a potentially harmful object as a toy. Meanwhile, reactions on social media echoed a sentiment of astonishment at the driver's fortunate survival, coupled with disdain for his irresponsible actions.
