Air Canada has introduced its much-anticipated route departing from its Vancouver (YVR) Pacific hub, arriving this morning in Singapore. This marks the debut of the airline’s latest international route and the only non-stop flight connecting Canada and Singapore. Covering a distance of 12,818 kilometers (7,965 miles), this route represents the airline’s longest flight in terms of distance, with a total flying time of up to 16 hours and five minutes.

Mark Galardo, Executive Vice President, Revenue and Network Planning at Air Canada, expressed excitement about welcoming passengers onboard their newest route linking Canada and Singapore from their Pacific hub in Vancouver. Galardo highlighted that these new flights to Singapore are part of Air Canada's strategic expansion at YVR, further establishing the airport as the preferred North American gateway to Asia. He emphasized Singapore's significance as a gateway to various destinations beyond, including Southeast Asia, Southern India, and Western Australia, accessible through Air Canada's codeshare and Star Alliance partner, Singapore Airlines.

The Honourable Jagrup Brar, Minister of State for Trade, Government of British Columbia, remarked on the significance of directly connecting Singapore, a key economic and financial hub in Southeast Asia, with British Columbia, Canada's Pacific gateway. Brar pointed out the potential for limitless opportunities arising from this new direct flight, including enhanced travel and tourism, increased business collaboration, and improved access to global markets, all of which would directly benefit the people of Singapore, Southeast Asia, and the province of British Columbia.

Tamara Vrooman, President and CEO of YVR, expressed satisfaction that Air Canada chose YVR as the host for the only non-stop flight between Canada and Singapore. Vrooman highlighted the economic benefits of the new route, estimating an $18 million increase in economic output and job creation across various sectors. She emphasized the positive impacts of the new service on tourism growth, trade expansion, and personal connections across the Pacific region. Vrooman also noted Air Canada's continued investment in Vancouver, highlighting the mutual benefits for the community and regional economy.

Rachel Loh, Senior Vice President of the Singapore Tourism Board Americas, expressed excitement about the official launch of Air Canada's new direct route from Vancouver to Singapore. Loh welcomed travelers to Singapore, highlighting the diverse range of experiences available, from cultural immersion to wellness offerings. She invited visitors to explore attractions such as the Bird Paradise and renowned hawker centers, along with exciting events like world-class concerts and the F1 Grand Prix. Loh conveyed eagerness for the arrival of travelers from Canada and the United States to experience all that Singapore has to offer.

The Vancouver-Singapore route is operated by Air Canada's Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners, offering passengers a choice of three cabin classes. These include Air Canada Signature Class, featuring luxurious lie-flat individual pods; Premium Economy, offering spacious seating with extra legroom and premium amenities; and Economy, which includes complimentary Chef-inspired meals and a selection of beverages. Passengers in all cabins can enjoy award-winning inflight entertainment, including a diverse range of movies, TV shows, music, and exclusive content from various providers. Wi-Fi connectivity is available for purchase, and Air Canada Aeroplan members enjoy complimentary texting on Wi-Fi-enabled aircraft.

Passengers traveling on Air Canada's international flights have access to Maple Leaf Lounges across North America and globally. The airline offers a culinary experience featuring dishes prepared by renowned Canadian chefs, complemented by a selection of premium wines curated by leading Canadian sommeliers. Passengers can earn and redeem points through Aeroplan, Air Canada's loyalty program, and eligible travelers benefit from priority services, including check-in, boarding, and lounge access, enhancing their overall travel experience.
