A baby cereal brand is being recalled across Canada due to potential contamination by a dangerous bacteria, Cronobacter. Calgary-based Baby Gourmet Foods has announced the recall of its Banana Raisin Oatmeal Organic Whole Grain Cereal, which is sold in 227-gram packages. This recall affects both in-store and online retailers nationwide.
Cronobacter bacteria can cause severe infections, especially in infants. The bacteria can lead to serious or even fatal infections in the bloodstream, central nervous system, and intestines. These infections are particularly dangerous for babies and young children, who are more vulnerable to severe health complications.

The recall was initiated following test results from the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) that detected the presence of Cronobacter in the cereal. They can either dispose of the product safely or return it to the store where it was purchased for a full refund. Baby Gourmet Foods has set up customer service channels to assist with returns and provide additional information about the recall.
