Iga Swiatek's recent triumph at the Italian Open has cemented her position as the top contender heading into the French Open. Aryna Sabalenka and Elena Rybakina have also showcased impressive performances leading up to the clay-court Grand Slam.

While the "Big Three" of the women's tour dominate headlines, there are rising stars poised to seize the spotlight should any falter at Roland Garros.

American player Danielle Collins, currently ranked 12th, is eyeing her first Grand Slam title to cap off a remarkable season. In January, she announced her intention to retire at the season's end. The 30-year-old has been in exceptional form, winning 15 consecutive matches before falling to Aryna Sabalenka in the Madrid Open. Collins secured her first-ever Masters 1000 title at the Miami Open and also triumphed at the Charleston Open. Despite her defeat to Sabalenka in the Italian Open semifinals, Collins' performance indicates a significant upward trajectory in her career.

Reflecting on her recent success, Collins acknowledged the unpredictability of tennis and expressed gratitude for her current form.

Madison Keys, another American player, has demonstrated strong performances during the clay swing and is expected to make an impact in Paris. Keys achieved notable victories over higher-ranked opponents such as Coco Gauff, Beatriz Haddad Maia, and Ons Jabeur in Madrid and Rome.

Tunisian player Ons Jabeur faced challenges in the early part of the season, failing to progress beyond the first round in seven consecutive tournaments. However, she showed signs of improvement at the Madrid Open, reaching the quarterfinals before being eliminated by Madison Keys. Although she suffered a disappointing first-round exit in Rome, Jabeur draws inspiration from her past triumphs, including reaching the final at Wimbledon last year despite overcoming injury setbacks.

Former French Open champion Jelena Ostapenko's career has experienced a resurgence, with the Latvian returning to the top 10 rankings after struggling following her 2017 Grand Slam victory. Ostapenko's recent performances include reaching the quarterfinals in Madrid and claiming titles at the Linz and Adelaide tournaments earlier in the season.

These rising stars represent a new wave of talent in women's tennis, poised to challenge the established order and make their mark on the sport's biggest stages.

In summary, Iga Swiatek's dominance at the Italian Open positions her as the frontrunner for the upcoming French Open. However, players like Danielle Collins, Madison Keys, Ons Jabeur, and Jelena Ostapenko are primed to capitalize on any opportunity to shine on the grand stage of Roland Garros.

S- Swiatek's Italian Open victory solidifies her as French Open favorite. Rising stars like Collins, Keys, Jabeur, and Ostapenko aim to challenge the status quo with impressive performances ahead of Roland Garros.
