Dallas Cowboys safety Malik Hooker, left, and defensive end Micah Parsons chat during training camp Sunday.

The Dallas Cowboys have made a clear decision — Micah Parsons is staying put.

After an intense 24 hours stirred by Parsons’ trade request, the team’s front office, led by Jerry Jones, has shut down any possibility of letting go of the 26-year-old pass rusher. Despite Parsons’ emotional and strongly worded statement on social media, the Cowboys remain firm in their stance.

While drama brews on the defensive side, the Cowboys are taking solid steps to support their quarterback. Dak Prescott just received a huge favor from the franchise.

Cowboys Sign La’el Collins to Strengthen Offensive Line

In a timely and strategic move, Dallas has signed offensive lineman La’el Collins. The veteran re-joins the Cowboys after previously playing for the team from 2015 to 2021.

His return couldn’t have come at a better time. The Cowboys are currently dealing with a string of injuries on the offensive line. Tyler Guyton, Rob Jones, Matt Waletzko, and Hakeem Adeniji are all sidelined. Even Tyler Smith left practice early this week due to knee soreness.

Collins, who recently worked out with the team, was seen telling Prescott’s kids, “I’m going to protect your daddy,” according to NBC. The message sent is loud and clear — the Cowboys are reinforcing their protection around Dak.

Contract details are still under wraps, but the signing brings much-needed experience and toughness to the offensive front.

Parsons Breaks Silence, Requests Trade in Fiery Post

Micah Parsons made headlines on Friday with a stunning post on social media. He publicly declared he no longer wishes to play for the Dallas Cowboys.

The star edge rusher has been absent from training camp activities, hoping to secure a long-term extension. He’s looking to become one of the league’s highest-paid defenders, but talks have reportedly stalled.

According to NFL insider Dianna Russini, the Cowboys and Parsons are far from an agreement. Yet, the team is adamant — they will not trade their All-Pro linebacker.

“I No Longer Want to Play Here,” Says Parsons

Parsons didn’t hold back in his statement. He expressed deep frustration over being left out of contract talks, poor handling of his injuries, and negative narratives spread in the media.

“I did everything I could to show that I wanted to be a Cowboy,” he wrote.
“But I no longer want to be here. I no longer want closed-door negotiations without my agent. I no longer want shots taken at me for getting hurt. I no longer want false narratives about me shared with the media.”

Parsons revealed he has been trying to initiate extension talks since the end of the 2023 season. However, he claims the team has gone silent and hasn't spoken to his agent even once.

Despite the Drama, Cowboys Won’t Budge

Parsons has formally submitted a trade request to Stephen Jones. However, the Cowboys don’t intend to entertain it. The franchise still considers Parsons a cornerstone of its defense.

The linebacker is set to earn $24 million this season under his fifth-year option. He’s had double-digit sacks each year since his rookie season in 2021. As the pass rusher market soars, his value is higher than ever.

Still, Dallas appears ready to ride out the storm — unwilling to let go of their defensive anchor.

Cowboys Focused on the Bigger Picture

While tension brews between Parsons and the front office, the Cowboys are making other moves. Strengthening protection for Prescott shows they’re still aiming high for the upcoming season.

Whether the Parsons situation is resolved soon or drags on, the Cowboys are making it clear — they’re not letting distractions derail their focus.
