The world is mourning the loss of boxing icon George Foreman, who passed away at 76 on March 21, 2025. Known for his incredible career in the ring and his impact beyond boxing, Foreman’s legacy has left an indelible mark on sports, business, and faith.

Tributes Pour in for the Heavyweight Champion

Mike Tyson, one of the sport’s greatest fighters, honoured Foreman’s memory with a heartfelt post. “Condolences to George Foreman’s family. His contribution to boxing and beyond will never be forgotten,” Tyson shared on social media alongside two memorable pictures. WBC Night of Champions Gala. The other, a throwback to 1990, captured Tyson playfully throwing an uppercut at Foreman during a press conference.

NBA legend Scottie Pippen also paid tribute, posting a powerful image of Foreman celebrating victory in the ring, writing, “Rest in peace, George Foreman. Your legacy lives on, champ.”

Former NFL quarterback Robert Griffin III remembered Foreman as more than just a boxing legend, calling him “a Man of God, a preacher, and the embodiment of power.” His post included a video compilation of Foreman’s greatest knockouts, celebrating the fighter’s incredible strength and determination.

Talk show host Loni Love highlighted Foreman’s influence beyond boxing: “Bigger than life in more ways than one, George Foreman captivated sports fans and even found a place on kitchen counters worldwide.” Richard Roeper, reflecting on one of Foreman’s greatest fights, recalled his stunning 1973 match against Joe Frazier, when he knocked Frazier down six times. The legendary call from Howard Cosell, “Down goes Frazier!” remains etched in boxing history.

A Life of Faith, Family, and Fighting Spirit

Foreman’s passing was announced on his official Instagram account with a heartfelt message: “Our hearts are broken. With profound sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved George Edward Foreman Sr., who peacefully departed on March 21, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.”

Though he gained worldwide fame in the ring, his family remembered him for his unwavering faith and devotion. “A humanitarian, an Olympian, and two-time heavyweight champion of the world, he was deeply respected—a force for good, a man of discipline, conviction, and a protector of his legacy,” the tribute read.

Foreman’s impact reached far beyond boxing. He was a successful entrepreneur, preacher, and motivational figure. The George Foreman Grill became a household name, proving his influence extended well beyond sports.

Survived by his wife, Mary Joan Martelly, and 11 children, Foreman leaves behind a legacy of strength, faith, and perseverance that will inspire generations to come.
