Seattle, WA – Jani Nyman starred for the Seattle Kraken, scoring twice to lead his team to a 5-3 victory over the visiting Vancouver Canucks. Vince Dunn also made a significant impact, contributing three assists in the high-energy matchup.

The Kraken struck first, taking a 1-0 lead after the opening period. Nyman’s early goal set the tone, keeping Vancouver on the back foot. The Canucks tried to respond but struggled to convert on their power-play chances.

Jani Nyman Helps Kraken Extend Lead Heading Into Final Period

Seattle widened the gap with goals from Eduard Sale, Jaden Schwartz, and John Hayden, giving them a 4-2 advantage as the third period approached. Kaapo Kakko played a key role, assisting on two goals and keeping the Kraken offense fluid.

Despite trailing, Vancouver fought hard. Victor Mancini, Chase Stillman, and Nils Aman scored for the Canucks. However, the team went just 1-for-6 on the power play, limiting their ability to mount a full comeback. Meanwhile, the Kraken failed to capitalize on their two power-play opportunities.

Goalies Face Busy Night

Both teams saw heavy action in the crease. Vancouver’s netminder Nikita Tolopilo made 13 saves on 14 shots, keeping his team within striking distance. Ty Young, the backup, stopped six of the 10 shots he faced.

For Seattle, Joey Daccord turned away nine of 11 shots, providing crucial stops during key moments. Nikke Kokko faced 14 shots and allowed three goals, but his teammates’ offensive push ensured the Kraken stayed ahead.

Kraken Hold On for Crucial Win

Seattle’s balanced attack and solid goaltending proved decisive. Nyman’s two goals highlighted the match, while Dunn and Kakko ensured the team maintained control throughout. The win boosts the Kraken’s confidence as they continue their campaign.

Vancouver, meanwhile, will need to address power-play inefficiencies and tighten defensive lapses if they hope to challenge stronger teams moving forward.

The Kraken now look to carry momentum into their upcoming fixtures, relying on a combination of offensive depth and defensive coordination. Vancouver heads back home seeking answers to regain consistency in their game.
