Las Vegas has started fresh promotions to bring Canadian visitors back after years of decline linked to political disputes. Travel & Tour World

Las Vegas wants Canadians back. After four years of falling numbers, the city has launched fresh campaigns to reconnect with one of its most important tourism markets. The drop in Canadian visitors followed political tensions, including comments from former U.S. president Donald Trump suggesting Canada should be annexed. Those remarks sparked boycotts and discouraged travel to Nevada’s desert playground.

For decades, Canadians have formed the largest group of international visitors to Las Vegas. Their absence left a noticeable gap. Now, the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) is investing heavily to restore that connection.

Promises of a Revamped Experience

The LVCVA says the city has grown and diversified, offering more than casinos and nightlife. Luxury hotels, Michelin-starred restaurants, family attractions, and live shows all form part of the renewed message to Canadians. Officials want travellers to know the city has evolved and continues to expand.

“We recognize the divide political comments created,” LVCVA leaders said. “But we are eager to welcome Canadians back.”

Special Deals and Promotions

Hotels and casinos are also stepping in. MGM Resorts, Caesars Entertainment, and Resorts World have announced promotions to attract Canadians. The offers include discounts on rooms, dining credits, and waived resort fees. The packages target travellers who value affordability but still want memorable experiences.

These promotions arrive at a key moment, as Las Vegas continues to fight for more international tourists. The city hopes Canadians see themselves as essential guests once again.

“Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas”

The new marketing push carries a familiar name. The “Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas” campaign is airing across major sports broadcasts in Canada, including NFL games. The ads highlight new developments along the Strip, which has seen over a billion dollars in recent investments.

From world-class entertainment to gourmet dining, the campaign paints Las Vegas as refreshed and ready. It aims to shift Canadian perceptions, assuring travellers that Las Vegas remains exciting while offering even more than before.

Gaming Industry Still Strong

Despite a slowdown in foreign visitors, Las Vegas has stayed resilient. The city’s gaming industry reported a 5.6 per cent revenue increase in July, powered by domestic tourism. Slot machines and table games kept the city’s economy thriving, even as Canadians stayed away.

The growth shows Las Vegas can survive tough times, but city leaders admit international travellers are key for long-term success.

Looking Ahead With Optimism

The LVCVA remains confident. Officials believe Canadian travellers will return once they see the city’s changes and promotions. The new strategy combines creative marketing with attractive deals, positioning Las Vegas for a strong comeback on the global tourism stage.

Las Vegas has always bounced back from setbacks. With renewed focus on Canadians, city leaders say the Strip is ready for brighter days.
