Fans of The Big Bang Theory are in for a wild ride with the upcoming spinoff series Stuart Fails to Save the Universe. In a sneak peek revealed at CCXP Mexico City, the first images from the show were unveiled, and they show Stuart Bloom (Kevin Sussman) in a world of trouble as he tries to fix a multiverse meltdown.
Stuart's Big Challenge
The series centers around comic book store owner Stuart Bloom, a beloved character from The Big Bang Theory. In the spinoff, Stuart inadvertently causes a multiverse catastrophe when he breaks a crucial device that Sheldon (Jim Parsons) and Leonard (Johnny Galecki) had built. As the multiverse falls apart, Stuart and his quirky team must try—and mostly fail—to restore reality.
Kevin Sussman will reprise his role as Stuart, and he’s joined by a hilarious cast, including Lauren Lapkus as his girlfriend Denise, Brian Posehn as geologist Bert, and John Ross Bowie as the annoyingly brilliant physicist Barry Kripke. Their mission will also take them through alternate-universe versions of familiar Big Bang characters.
A Multiverse of Hilarity
“Watching Stuart fail every week is where the fun is,” said Posehn during the panel. “He’s not good at saving the universe,” added Sussman, explaining that his character is far out of his comfort zone. Fans can also look forward to seeing Stuart’s relationship with Denise develop, as their romance, which started in The Big Bang Theory, continues to grow in the spinoff.

Legendary Soundtrack
In an exciting twist, Stuart Fails to Save the Universe will feature a theme song from none other than legendary composer Danny Elfman. Known for his iconic work on The Simpsons and Batman, Elfman’s contribution will certainly add a distinctive flair to the series.
What’s Next for Stuart?
The show’s plot promises a mix of comedy, sci-fi, and multiverse chaos, with Stuart reluctantly taking on a leadership role in the midst of a universe on the brink of destruction. The series will explore the quirky dynamics between the characters as they attempt to fix their mistakes while dealing with the fallout from their cosmic blunders.
Streaming Soon
Stuart Fails to Save the Universe is set to stream on HBO Max starting this July. With Chuck Lorre, Zak Penn, and Bill Prady behind the scenes, the show is poised to bring plenty of laughs and a bit of heart to the Big Bang universe.
