A new storm, Tropical Storm Milton, is on track to impact Florida just weeks after Hurricane Helene caused widespread destruction in the southern United States. With its anticipated arrival on Tuesday night or Wednesday morning, the storm is causing concern among residents and travellers alike, leading airlines to issue travel advisories.

Jon Porter, Chief Meteorologist at AccuWeather, emphasized the severity of the situation, stating, “This is an unusual and extremely concerning forecast track for a hurricane approaching the Tampa Bay area.” He warned that Milton could rapidly strengthen into a major hurricane, potentially resulting in life-threatening storm surges and significant damage.

Residents in the storm's projected path are being urged to prepare for the worst. This includes securing homes, stocking up on necessary supplies, and following updates from local authorities and meteorologists. With uncertainty about Milton’s exact track and intensity, the advice is to remain vigilant.
