Adam Sandler returns to play Happy Gilmore once again in the sequel. Netflix

After almost 30 years, Adam Sandler is back in his famous role as Happy Gilmore. In the sequel, Happy returns to the golf course for a special reason—he wants to pay for his daughter’s ballet school.

This time, the story is more personal. His daughter, Vienna, played by Sandler’s real-life daughter Sunny, dreams of becoming a ballerina. To support her, Happy needs to win again.

Familiar Faces Return

Many characters from the original movie also return. Julie Bowen is back as Virginia, Happy’s wife. Christopher McDonald returns as Shooter McGavin, Happy’s long-time rival. Dennis Dugan plays Doug Thompson, the golf commissioner again.

Ben Stiller returns too as Hal L., who now runs a support group. Kevin Nealon also comes back as golfer Gary Potter.

Meet the New Characters

This time, there are plenty of new faces.

  • Bad Bunny plays Oscar, Happy’s clueless new caddy.
  • Benny Safdie appears as Frank Manatee, the owner of a sports drink company.
  • Lavell Crawford joins the story as Slim, son of Happy’s mentor Chubbs.
  • Kym Whitley plays Bessie, part of Hal’s support group.
  • Blake Clark brings his Waterboy character Farmer Fran into this movie.

The Gilmore family also grows. Happy and Virginia now have four sons—Wayne, Gordie, Bobby, and Terry—played by Ethan Cutkosky, Maxwell Jacob Friedman, Philip Fine Schneider, and Conor Sherry.

Star-Studded Golf Cameos

Since the film centers on golf, many real-life golfers appear in quick cameos. Big names like Rory McIlroy, Jack Nicklaus, Justin Thomas, and Jordan Spieth all make appearances. Other stars include Brooks Koepka, Nelly Korda, and Bryson DeChambeau.

Surprise Celebrity Appearances

This movie is packed with unexpected celebrity appearances.

Actors and athletes take on fun roles:

  • Eminem plays Donald Jr.
  • Travis Kelce appears as a waiter
  • Kid Cudi plays an FBI agent
  • Post Malone becomes DJ Omar Gosh
  • Reggie Bush shows up as 8 Ball
  • Becky Lynch plays Flex

More actors join in:

  • Eric Andre, Jon Lovitz, Oliver Hudson, and Rob Schneider all play quirky characters.
  • Adam’s wife Jackie and daughters Sunny and Sadie also appear in small roles.

Celebrities Playing Themselves

A few famous people play themselves:

  • Cam’ron, Ken Jennings, Bobby Lee, and Sean Evans all show up briefly.

Alix Earle and Treasure Wilson also appear as themselves.
