A major recall has been issued for thousands of Frigidaire ovens in Canada and the U.S. after multiple reports of burn injuries. The issue with certain Frigidaire ranges increases the risk of burns, prompting the company to take action. The recall notice, posted on Thursday, warns users about the potential dangers associated with these ovens.

Safety Concerns Lead to Recall

Frigidaire has reported a total of 62 incidents involving their gas ranges across both Canada and the U.S., with at least one person injured in Canada and 30 people hurt in the U.S. The problem stems from a delayed ignition of the oven’s bake burner, which can cause a sudden burst of flame when the oven is turned on. The company has stated that these ovens were sold between June 2025 and January 2026.

The recall affects approximately 5,318 units in Canada and 174,800 in the U.S. The affected ranges are from the Frigidaire, Frigidaire Gallery, and Frigidaire Professional lines. Consumers who own these specific models are urged to stop using them immediately to avoid potential burns or other injuries.

Affected Models and Serial Numbers

The recall impacts the following Frigidaire range models:

  • FCFG3062AS
  • FCFG3062AW
  • FCFG3083AS
  • FCRG3052BS
  • FCRG3052BW
  • FCRG3062AS
  • FCRG3062AW
  • FCRG3083AD
  • FCRG3083AS
  • GCFG3059BF
  • GCFG3060BD
  • GCFG3060BF
  • GCFG3070BF
  • GCRG3060BD
  • GCRG3060BF
  • PCFG3080AF

These models have serial numbers between VF52200000 and VF54399999. If you own one of these ranges, it is crucial that you stop using the oven immediately.

How to Handle the Recall

Frigidaire has advised customers who own these ranges to get in touch with Electrolux Group to arrange for a free in-home installation of a new bake burner. The company assures that these installations will be carried out at no charge to the customer.

While the oven’s bake burner is the part causing the danger, the company has confirmed that the cooktop burners can still be safely used in the meantime. However, it is essential that the affected oven models are not used for baking until the new burner is installed.

Company Response and Action

Frigidaire is taking the necessary steps to address the issue by providing a free fix for affected customers. The company has asked all owners of the recalled ovens to act quickly and contact them for a repair. The delay in ignition is a serious concern, as it could lead to a dangerous situation with potential burns or other harm.

Frigidaire is working to resolve the problem and ensure that these ovens are safe for use once the necessary repairs are made. Customers who own one of the recalled models should follow the instructions in the recall notice and reach out to the company for assistance.
