Ottawa could wake up to chilly weather on Saturday, as a frost advisory warns of near-freezing temperatures overnight. Environment Canada says temperatures will drop close to zero degrees Celsius early Saturday morning.

In some city areas, the temperature might stay a bit warmer, reducing the chance of frost. Still, it’s a good idea to cover plants, especially those sensitive to cold or in places prone to frost.

Protect Your Plants

If you have frost-sensitive plants or young trees, take steps to protect them this weekend. Covering them with blankets or frost cloths can help prevent damage from the cold.

Saturday’s Weather

After a cold start, the weather will improve. Expect sunshine and a high of 18 C during the day on Saturday.

Sunday’s Forecast

Sunday will begin even cooler, with lows around 1 C in the morning. The day will have a mix of sun and clouds, and temperatures will reach a comfortable 21 C.

First Day of Fall Brings Showers

Monday, September 22, marks the official start of fall. The forecast predicts a chance of showers with a high of 22 C, bringing a typical early autumn feel to the region.
