Salsa on St. Clair is back this weekend. The popular street party will turn Toronto’s St. Clair Avenue West into a lively celebration of Latin culture. The festival runs from 12 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on both Saturday, July 5, and Sunday, July 6.
Latin Culture Takes Over the Streets
The event features food, music, dance, and live shows. More than 15 countries will be represented through food and performances. Expect vibrant energy, non-stop dancing, and tasty bites all weekend long. Festival Ambassador Jesus Bustamante says this year’s event will surprise and delight everyone.
“It’s an honour to be part of it,” Bustamante said. “We have an amazing lineup this year.”
Where and How to Get There
The festival happens on St. Clair Avenue West, between Winona Road and Christie Street. It’s a short walk from St. Clair West Subway Station or a few stops on the 512 streetcar. Public transit or biking is recommended due to road closures and limited parking.
Road Closures and Transit Changes
St. Clair Avenue West will be closed between Winona and Christie from Saturday 7 a.m. to Sunday 11 p.m. TTC routes will also change during this time. Drivers and transit users should plan ahead.
Don’t Miss the Dancing
This year’s event includes more than 60 live shows. Want to learn salsa or bachata? Dance instructors from Abanico Dance & Entertainment will offer fun and easy lessons for all ages.
Other must-see performers include:
- Colombian Dance Company (CDC) – bringing traditional Colombian styles.
- Cumbia Power – adding tropical flair with high-energy rhythms.
- Dance Migration – showcasing 18 years of Brazilian samba expertise.
- Nelcy – a Zumba instructor with Chilean-Colombian roots who will get everyone moving.
Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow is also expected to join a Politician Dance-Off at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
